The Goldsmid Award for Excellence in Research in Thermoelectrics by a Graduate Student was initiated in 1999. The award carries a cash prize and a certificate. Applications are solicited each year and an award is made if the demanding requirements are met. Click here for the most recent announcements

The International Thermoelectric Society (ITS) announces the 2019 Goldsmid Award for Excellence in Research in Thermoelectrics by a Graduate Student.

2018 ITS Goldsmid and Graduate Student Awards announced

The ITS Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Kunpeng Zhao, Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, China, is the winner of the 2018 Goldsmid Award for excellence in research in thermoelectricity by a graduate student. The award is co-sponsored by ITS and Marlow Industries.

The Board also announces two winners of the Graduate Student Awards: Qihao Zhang (Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, China) and Siqi Lin (Tongji University, China).  The awards are sponsored by ITS.

Call for Nominations for 2018 Goldsmid and Graduate Student Awards

The International Thermoelectric Society (ITS) announces the 2018 Goldsmid Award for Excellence in Research in Thermoelectrics by a Graduate Student.

The award is sponsored by Marlow, Inc., and carries a cash prize of one thousand dollars ($1000) and a Descriptive Certificate that will be presented at the Banquet of the 37th International Conference on Thermoelectrics (ICT 2018), in Caen, France.

In addition, the 2018 Award will include a US$1000 contribution to the awardee to cover travel and fees for attending ICT 2018, July 1 – 5, 2018 in Caen, France.

2017 ITS Goldsmid and Graduate Student Awards Announced

The ITS Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Jiawei Zhang, Aarhus University, Denmark, is the winner of the 2017 Goldsmid Award for excellence in research in thermoelectricity by a graduate student. The award is co-sponsored by ITS and Marlow Industries.

The Board also announces two winners of the Graduate Student Awards: Zhiwei Chen (Tongji University, China) and Stephen Kang (Northwestern University, USA). The awards are sponsored by ITS.
