Summer Fellowship Award of the International Thermoelectric Society (ITS Summer Fellowship)

Purpose

To assist a graduate student in the pursuit of research during the summer (May – August) in a field of interest to the ITS.

 The Award

The award shall be known as the ITS Fellowship and will consist of funds in the amount of US $5,000 for the summer months of study at an institution different from the awardee’s home institution.

Graduate Student Conference Registration Waivers for ICT 2018

The International Thermoelectric Society (ITS) Conference Registration Waiver is intended to assist graduate students to participate at the annual International Conference on Thermoelectrics (ICT).  As part of our commitment to advancing research and training, the ITS will provide funding for up to 14 registration waivers for students to attend ICT 2018 in Caen, France.

ITS Announces 2017 Outstanding Achievement, Young Investigator Awards

The ITS Board of Directors announces that Professor Ctirad Uher, University of Michigan, USA, has been selected as the recipient of the 2017 Outstanding Achievement in Thermoelectrics Award. The award recognizes outstanding scholarship in and service to the thermoelectric community.  The award is co-sponsored by ITS and KELK Ltd and supported by the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Physics of Solids.

2017 ITS Goldsmid and Graduate Student Awards Announced

The ITS Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Jiawei Zhang, Aarhus University, Denmark, is the winner of the 2017 Goldsmid Award for excellence in research in thermoelectricity by a graduate student. The award is co-sponsored by ITS and Marlow Industries.

The Board also announces two winners of the Graduate Student Awards: Zhiwei Chen (Tongji University, China) and Stephen Kang (Northwestern University, USA). The awards are sponsored by ITS.

ICT 2016 Best Paper awards manuscript submission deadline - The deadline for manuscripts to be considered for the best paper awards is May 1, 2016.

Some useful details:

The deadline for the submission of manuscripts is May 29, 2016. Manuscripts submitted after this deadline will not be considered for the proceedings. The conference also has best paper awards, announced at the conference. Best paper awardees will be selected from manuscripts submitted by the best paper award deadline of May 1, 2016.

ITS announces 2015 Goldsmid and Graduate Student Award Winners

The International Thermoelectric Society is proud to announce that Mr. Lipeng Hu, Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Zhejiang University, China, has been selected as the recipient of the 2015 ITS Goldsmid Award. The award is generously sponsored in part by Marlow Industries and includes a $1000.00 cash prize.

Dr. Sabah Bux selected for 2015 ITS Young Investigator Award - Partially Supported by Gentherm

Dr. Sabah Bux from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California Institute of Technology, USA, has been selected as the recipient of the 2015 International Thermoelectric Society Young Investigator Award. The award is partially sponsored with generous support from Gentherm, Inc. Dr. Bux received her PhD in chemistry in 2010 from the University of California – Los Angeles, and has been on the research staff at JPL since that time.  She has made several outstanding contributions to the synthesis, characterization, and understanding of bulk nanostructured materials.
