PhD student in Materials Science
formally based at the Energy Materials Unit, Thin Film Physics Division, Dept. of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (IFM)
The Energy Materials group of the Thin Film Physics Division (PI Per Eklund, ERC Starting Grant and Wallenberg Academy Fellow) conducts fundamental and application-inspired studies of thin-film materials for energy applications, with emphasis on thermoelectrics and materials for fuel cells. The present position will involve studies in the areas of fundamental materials science studies of thin films of functional oxides, in particular growth by magnetron sputtering and thermoelectric properties, and materials growth by van der Waals epitaxy. The specifics of the position and project will be decided in consensus and adapted to the interests and background of the applicant. We collaborate extensively with theoreticians, and depending on the applicant’s interests, the present position may include a theoretical part in guidance and interplay with experiments.
