Efficiency of Various Metal Pairs

Forums:

Hey Guys,

Im new around here and was wondering if anyone has compiled a list of metal junction pairs for Peltier/Sebeck junctions, and their corresponding conversion efficiency as a Seebeck Generator. There are a myriad of different alloys and metal combinations which could produce efficient junctions. Im wondering what metals are currently the best (most efficient energy converters and highest output power/area ). But also what metals have yet to be tested.

For example: a Type E thermocouple has a chromel (10% nickle Chromium) and a Constantan (45% Nickel Copper) junction. It has a temperature range of -330 to 1600 F. What is its conversion efficiency and what is its max power output/unit area?
