2011 ITS Best Paper Awards
The International Thermoelectric Society (ITS) is pleased to announce the 2011 ITS Scientific and Applied Best Paper Awards. The awards are sponsored by the International Thermoelectrics Society (ITS) and carry a cash prize of US $500 each as well as a certificate suitable for framing. The awards will be presented at the banquet of the 30th International Conference on Thermoelectrics (ICT 2011), July 17-21, 2011, in Traverse City, Michigan, USA.
Selection:
The best “Scientific” and “Application” papers, one from each category, will be chosen among all papers presented by the submission deadline (see below), with the exception of invited papers. The selection will be based solely on the manuscripts; no consideration will be given to the accompanying presentation. Award criteria are the scientific merit, originality and clarity of the papers.
Selection Panel:
The Selection Panel will be appointed by the ICT 2011 conference chair and all decisions are final.
Submission Deadline:
The deadline for manuscripts to be considered for these awards is June 17, 2011. Manuscripts submitted after this date will not be considered

2011 Best Poster Awards
For this year's conference, we are delighted to announce a competition for two poster awards. One award will be offered for the "Best Thermoelectrics Fundamentals Poster" and one for the "Best Thermoelectrics Application Poster". The awards are sponsored by Corning Incorporated, and carry a cash prize of $500 US each, together with a framed certificate.
The award committee will include at least one representative from Europe, Asia and the Americas and will be chaired by a sponsor's representative.
The award winner will be chosen solely on the basis of scientific and technical merit, originality, and clarity of presentation during the poster session. No additional application is necessary.
Call for Candidates for the 2011 Annual Goldsmid Award
The International Thermoelectric Society (ITS) announces the 2011 Goldsmid Award for Excellence in Research in Thermoelectrics by a Graduate Student. The award is sponsored by Marlow Industries, Inc. and carries a cash prize of one thousand dollars US ($1000) and a descriptive certificate that will be presented at the banquet of the 30th International Conference on Thermoelectrics (ICT 2011), in Traverse City, Michigan, USA. In addition, the 2011 Award will include a US $1000 contribution to the awardee to cover travel and fees for attending the conference. Call for Candidates for the 2011 Annual Young Investigator Award
The International Thermoelectric Society (ITS) announces the 2011 ITS Young Investigator Award for Excellence in Research in Thermoelectrics by a young investigator who holds a researcher/engineer position in either: academia, industry, government lab or scientific institute (e.g. The Max Planck Institute). This award is to be given to a young researcher who has exhibited a record of excellent original work and significant results in the field of thermoelectrics or thermoelectric materials. The recipient should have shown significant research in the early stages of his/her career.
The award is co-sponsored by Amerigon, Inc., and The International Thermoelectrics Society (ITS) and carries a cash prize of two thousand dollars ($2000 in US currency) and a descriptive certificate. The 2011 award will be presented at the banquet of the 30th International Conference on Thermoelectrics (ICT2011), July 17 – 21, in Traverse City, Michigan, USA.
In addition, the recipient of the ITS Young Investigator Award will present an invited talk at the ICT2011 in order to highlight the research leading to the award. More details, including eligibility and application requirements can be found at:

Outstanding Achievements in Thermoelectrics Award
The International Thermoelectric Society (ITS) announces the 2011 Outstanding Achievement in Thermoelectrics Award to recognize the outstanding achievements of a senior scientist for their contributions to the field of thermoelectricty.
The award, partially sponsored by Komatsu, Inc., carries a cash prize of two thousand US dollars ($2000), honorary membership in the ITS, and a medal that will be presented at the Banquet of the 30th International Conference on Thermoelectrics (ICT 2011), in Traverse City, Michigan, USA.
