The International Thermoelectric Society and the organizers of ICT 2011 wish to thank all of our sponsors!

The annual International Conference on Thermoelectrics is traditionally held in North America, Europe and Asia on a rotational basis. Following Freiburg, Germany in 2009 and Shanghai, China, in 2010,  the ITS Board has accepted a proposal from Professor Donald Morelli of Michigan State University  to organize and host  ICT2011, to be held in the beautiful resort area of Traverse City, Michigan, USA.

The Weather Channel ranks Traverse City behind only San Diego, CA and Maui, HI as the best summer climate in the US!

The ICT is the leading annual meeting in the field of thermoelectrics. Over 400 experts from academia, industry, government laboratories, and research institutions are invited to discuss the state-of-the-art of the technology, advances in the science of thermoelectricity, latest work in materials research and device design, and opportunities for commercialization.

Further details will be posted here as they become available.

Please note the short guideline for abstract submission below for your first step. You will be asked to select one of the topic categories list below that is close to your work. The categories help the scientific program committee to organize abstracts into sessions. The scientific program committee may also regroup the sessions, depending on the number of abstracts in each category.
Please choose one of the categories:

A: Theory
A1: theoretical study of bulk materials
A2: nanoscale and low-dimension induced effects
A3: novel concept and related physical phenomenon

B:  Thermoelectric Materials
  B1: skutterudites
  B2: oxides
  B3: silicides & Heusler compounds
  B4: clathrates & zintl compounds
  B5: antimonides & tellurides
  B6: novel materials

C: Measurement & Characterization
  C1:
microstructure
  C2: properties

D: Thermoelectric Modules
  D1: design and fabrication
  D2: thin film devices
  D3: device performance

E: System & Industrial Applications

  E5: other industrial aspects

The proceedings will be published as a series of regular papers in the Journal of Electronic Materials JEM.

Short Guideline for Abstract Submission:

  • Abstract submission is only possible via the online system. Abstracts that are not submitted online will not be accepted!

  • If you have never used this abstract submission system before, please first create a new account. With this account you will be able to edit your submitted paper(s) until the submission will be closed on April 1, 2011.

  • Some submission tips:

    • Charts, table, graphics and pictures cannot be inserted into the abstract, special characters, however, may be included.

    • There is a 300-word maximum for abstracts.

    • Please format your abstract only in a standard font as “Arial” or “Times New Roman”; the formatting for use of your abstract within the abstract book will be done automatically after submission by the system.

    • More details on the  use of the abstract submission system is provided directly during the submission process.

  • Please note that you will receive one e-mail notification when your abstract has been submitted and is pending review, and another notification when its status has been determined (accepted/rejected).
