Prof. Dr. Kornelius Nielsch
Universität Hamburg, GermanyKornelius Nielsch studied physics at the Mercator University in Duisburg (1993–97) and conducted his diploma work at the University of Lund. His Ph.D. was carried out at the Max-Planck-Institute in Halle, Germany. From 2002 he worked as a postdoctoral associate at the MIT. From 2003 he was leading a research group on “Multifunctional Nanowires and Nanotubes” at the Max-Planck-Institute in Halle. Nielsch was appointed as professor for Experimental Physics at the University of Hamburg in 2007. Since 2009 he is acting as the coordinator of the German Priority Program DFG-SPP 1386 on Thermoelectric Nanostructures funded by the German Science Foundation (DFG), where 42 PIs are involved from Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
