B7: Device and system performance
We have established the fabrication methodology to aim speeding up the process of prototyping a power generation thermoelectric module using novel materials. The process is devided into five steps. 1) electrode jointing, 2) power output and efficiency measurement for single P- and N- leg, 3) power generation test for single PN pair, 4) power generation test of modules with multiple PN pairs, 5) data analysis based on the simulation using finite element method and feedback to each steps. Jointing using liquid metal such as In-Ga eutectic alloy gives perfect thermal and electrical contacts. Some examples of efficiency measurement for single leg using miniature flow calorimeter will be shown in the presentation. We will also disucuss the observed discrepancy in efficiency measurement of single leg, single pair and multiple pairs module.
