Single crystals of Se and Fe doped Bi2Te3 have been synthesized via zone melting method. Energy Dispersive X-ray analyses (EDAX) and X-ray powder diffraction analyses were carried out for confirmation of constituent elements and lattice parameters of the grown crystals. Surface topological features were also studied on the as-grown faces of the single crystals. The transport properties of doped stoichiometric Bi2Te3 single crystals have been studied by measuring the thermoelectric power and electrical conductivity in the temperature range of 303K to 473K. The thermoelectric power, S, effective masses, scattering mechanism and Fermi energy were calculated by thermoelectric power (TEP) measurements. The temperature dependence of the resistivity, ρ, showed that both the doped crystals are thermally activated. All the crystals showed semiconducting behavior from the temperature dependence of ‘ρ’ and ‘S’. The effective masses of electrons and the effective density of states have also been determined and reported for Bi2Te3-xSex (0≤x≤0.3) and Bi2-yFeyTe3 (0≤y≤0.3).
