Direct flights to Nagoya are available from the following cities: Seoul Cheju, Cheongju, Taipei, Pusan, Beijing; Shanghai, Xi'an, Manila, Hong Kong, Singapore, Bangkok, Denpasar, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Honolulu, Portland, Guam, Saipan, Nandi, Vancouver, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, London, Paris, Calms, Christchurch, Sydney, Auckland and Melbourne.
Participants flying from the U.S.A. are recommended to fly to Los Angeles, CA, or Portland, OR, and transfer to direct flights to Nagoya on Delta Airlines, or fly to Seoul, Korea, for a connecting flight to Nagoya. For participants from European countries, direct flights to Nagoya via London or Frankfurt are recommended.
Domestic flights are available from Narita to Nagoya, but not from Osaka. The bullet train, "Shinkansen', is a fast and convenient way to get to Nagoya from either Shin- Osaka, Kyoto or Tokyo.
Transportation from Nagoya International Airport Bus service to the Nagoya JR train station is available every 15 minutes. The bus stop (No.1) is to your left as you exit the terminal. The trip takes about 1 hour.
To get from Narita to the Tokyo JR train station (to connect with the JR Shinkansen), 2 ways are recommended:
1. An express train (Narita Express) from the airport to the Tokyo Central JR Station (1 hour, about JY3,000).
2. A non-stop limousine service is available, leaving Narita airport every 15 minutes (100 min., about JY3,000)
The JR Shinkansen "Hikari" takes about 2 hours to Nagoya and a faster "Nozomi" train with fewer stops takes about 1.5 hours. The Shinkansen costs about JY11,000 one way.If you plan to stay in Tokyo overnight before proceeding to Nagoya, other limousines to major Tokyo hotels are available.
