REGISTRATION FEE

In the following table the conference fee is given of regular participants, students and accompanying guests:

The registration fee of a regular participant covers admission to all technical sessions, all conference related booklets, one copy of proceedings, coffee break refreshments, entrance to the exhibition, and admission to the excursion and all evening events.

Students fee covers admission to all technical sessions, all conference related booklets, one copy of proceedings, coffee break refreshments, entrance to the exhibition, and admission to the welcome and farewell receptions.

The fee of accompanying guests includes the excursion (Tuesday evening), the conference banquet and welcome and farewell receptions. Additional tickets for excursion and banquet can be purchased seperately.

The payment can be made in DM by bank transfer to the following bank account of the Institute of Solid State and Materials Research Dresden:

An extra service for alternative payment by credit cards (VISA, Mastercard) is offered to non-European participants. This service will not be available for on-site registration. For this purpose transmit to:

HOTEL INFORMATION

To order hotel rooms it is necessary for you to make a hardcopy of the 'hotel reservation form' or the 'youth hostel reservation form', to fill out the requested fields and to SIGN it. Please send it back by Fax or ordinary mail to Mrs.Grit Minar.

A limited number of rooms has been allocated in the Conference Hotel Art'otel at a highly discounted rate. In the case of overbooking further rooms are available in the Hotel Elbflorenz. Optionally the five star Kempinsky Hotel can also be booked. The rates including breakfast and tax are as follows (in DM):

In addition we have booked a limited number of rooms in the Dresden Youth Hostel (D-01067 Dresden, Maternistr. 22) at low rates of DM 50.- (Single) and DM 70.- (Double).

The Kempinski Hotel, Hotel Elbflorenz and the Dresden Youth Hostel are within a walking distance of about 15-20 min from the Art'otel. Public transport is also available.

TRAVEL INFORMATION

Dresden is connected with nearly all airports of Germany and with airports of several European cities. The most convenient plane route to Dresden airport is via Frankfurt/Main. The distance from the airport to the Hotel Art’otel is about 8km. Approximate one-way taxi cost is about DM 25.-. Shuttle service (Airport City Liner) is also available for a lower price.

The distance from the main station to the Art’otel is about 2.5km. The tramway includes a change from line 11 to line 8 at the station Külz-Ring.

At the end of August the weather in Dresden is usually very pleasant. As a rule a normal summer-wear is sufficient.

VISAS

Travel to Germany may require visa. In order to facilitate visa arrangements an official letter with an invitation to participate at the conference will be sent by the organizing committee to each person on request. These formalities will be made easier if some information of conference participants and all accompanying persons will be included in the invitation. These are:

• passport number
