A high-performance thermoelectric BiCuSeO ceramic has been prepared by Ball Milling combined with Plasma Activated Sintering(PAS). Phase composition and microstructure analysis indicate the obtained ceramic samples are almost BiCuSeO phase with plate structure. Our results show that Zn doping can result in a large Seebeck coefficient, good electrical conductivity and reamain the low thermal conductivity of BiCuSeO bulks. The dimensionless figure of merit (ZT) can reach 0.90 at 873 K in the BiCuSeO oxyselenides by the 10% Zn doping, which makes them to be promising candidates for thermoelectric applications.
