A2: Medium temperature materials
Thin film thermoelectric generators (TEG) have wide perspectives in consumer electronics as an additional power source. A major problem of such devices is their low efficiency. One of the ways of improving the thermoelectric efficiency is the use of nanostructured materials with a high thermoelectric figure of merit (ZT). In current work, peculiarities of Bi-Te based superlattices growth made by pulsed laser deposition method are observed. The investigation of influence of technological parameters on surface morphology and thermoelectric properties has been done. Silica, mica, sapphire and polyimide substrates were used. X-ray reflectivity and Rutherford backscattering spectrometry methods were used for heterostructures interfaces characterization.
