B8: Modelling
An analytical model for thermoelectric (TE) generator has been developed. It is derived from thermoelectric theory including the material properties which are vary with temperature. In this research, internal resistance and Seebeck coefficient are going to be discovered. The importance of these two properties based on their influence in TE output power expression. The analytical model is trying to cover wide range of operated temperatures. Therefore, the amount of power gain in different conditions can be expected. Marlow TG12-2.5 thermoelectric generator has been examined to verify the model. Heating was applied by a hot plate. However, heat sink occurs cooling on cold side. Experimental validation has been run under two sets of experiment: natural and force convection to indicate the effect of temperature difference on output power.
